Civility: Does it exist?

I read the post on Phillyblog.com about Vince Papale's wife, Janet, and her actions at a screening for Invicible. It's a long read, but it is well worth it. I'm not going to try to summarize it for you but let's just say that this is the lowest form of disrespect by one human being to another.

You have to believe that in 2006, there are people that still don't get IT. And I don't care to hear any excuses that Janet Papale was drunk. Alcohol does serve as a truth serum.

Blacks, or for the politically correct MFers, African-Americans, aren't going away. Blacks have given the United States of America a swagger that they will never be given credit for and have contributed in more ways other than in the world of sports.

Why is it that people are so afraid of another human being? For one, we're all taught to FEAR different things. It may be spiders, snakes or the dark and some are born with fears such as of heights, water or even plastic. Yes, plastic! Why be afraid of another human being when they take care of business just like you, breathe the same air as you and stress about their finances...just like you. You are the captain of your ship and no one gets into your back yard without your permission.

Remember to be civil, because the ass that you may be kicking today may be the same ass that you may have to kiss tomorrow.
