Dallas Penn: Bobbito Garcia

Sneaker reporter and everydayman of the streets, Dallas Penn, hit the Nike Sportswear event that took place at 21 Mercer Street last week and was able to chop it up with Bobbito Garcia, founder of BOUNCE Magazine and author of Where'd You Get Those? New York City's Sneaker Culture: 1960 - 1987, a must have book for those that suffer from incurable OSD!

Also, check out the invitation extended by none other than DJ Clark Kent to Dallas to join him and Bobbito where the chocolate and coffee is said to be the BOMB!

The Baller-in-Chief: Alpha Forces

As many people wake-up today to a new President of the United States,
it gives us, OSD, great pride to witness a "changing of the guard".

The world has changed ever so slightly and it's going to take alot of
work, patience, compassion and a willingness to be bold for the world
to truly change.

Yesterday, we showed you the Nike Air Command Force, which will be
shipped to President Obama, today we show you the classic Nike Air
Alpha Force from '88 and the 'Liberty Bell' Alpha Force sneakers from
'05.

Now, the question has to asked, what sneakers will President Obama be
wearing for his first pick-up game as the 44th President of the United
States?

Send us an email with your suggestions or join us tonight at 9:30 pm
EST/ 6:30 pm PST on the OSD Talk Show and let your thoughts be known.

Tune it at www.ObsessiveSneakerDisorder.com.

In Honor of the 44th President

We, the good folks of OSD would like to congratulate Barack H. Obama
on becoming the 44th President of the United States.

With that being said, we plan on mailing a pair of Nike Air Command
Force sneakers to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, D.C. so that
when the 'Baller-in-Chief' is ready for the OSD Basketball Tournament,
his kick-game is as stoic as he is.

Walk good Mr. President....Walk Good!!

Hey Tim, I want my $750!

So the NBA is rolling out the petty lawsuits towards ex-referee Tim Donaghy.

The NBA is suing Tim for $750 for the Nike sneakers he wore during the 3-years refereeing NBA games.

I guess David Stern is going 'All In' on that ass!

Obama is a Baller

We've heard or read many stories about Democratic Presidential Nominee Barack Obama enjoys playing the game of basketball. Obama has gone as far to get in a game that while relaxing in the US Virgin Islands, he was able to get in a full-court run at Ivanna Eudora Kean High School (St. Thomas).

We're working on getting the game footage, but you'll notice that Obama plays in Asics running sneakers. Now, if that's not a baller for real, I don't know what is.

Obama runnin' tings in '08!

When did athletic shoes stop getting sponsored by athletes??????

Ok enough is enough! I have to put my foot down! After seeing a video on line of the latest hot right now rapper (in 6 months you wont remember him) saying he got his own shoe line coming out I almost threw my computer out of the window. What has the athletic shoe market come to? When did rappers need athletic shoes? Most of them now a days don't even move around the stage (wow that sounded old), so why in the hell do they need their own line of athletic shoes? I don't even think the kids of this generation know who Michael Jordan is (its a stretch but think about it). Of course they know his shoes but have they seen a game? Do they even remember when Shaq was playing for Orlando and he dunked the ball so hard he broke the rim? Those are instances where athletic shoes are needed; not when your "supermanning dat ho" or "throwing up the roc". Those are not feats of amazing agility, strength, or athleticism so why in the hell do rappers need their own athletic shoes???!!!
