I'm happier than a sissy in Provincetown! Yes, I really am that excited because for the first time in many moons, the Chicago Bears are playing great football reminiscent of the '85-'86 season.
Remember Superbowl XX? If not, well let me tell you how it went down: The Bears played 4 preseason games and went 1-3; the defense led by Mike Singletary, Richard Dent, William "The Fridge" Perry and Wilber Marshall and Leslie Frazier were kicking ass and taking names; the offense led by Jim McMahon, Walter "Sweetness" Payton, Willie Gault, and Dennis McKinnon were putting points on the board; Regular season record 15-1; the loss took place on a Monday Night Football game at the hands of the Miami Dolphins 38-24; the Bears were outmatched by speed and the defense couldn't stop the Dolphins' offense; the Bears tear threw the rest of the regular season by winning the remaining 3 games; take on the Giants in the Playoffs and spank dat ass by beating the G-Men 21-0; next up the Rams who were still in Los Angeles at the time and spank them 24-0, which led the Bears to Superbowl 20 in New Orleans! The Bears defeated the New England Patriots 46-10 January 26, 1986.
