Mission Possible
The Chicago Bears did it the old fashioned way with a win that will go down in history. I am as happy as a kid at Christmas time because, for oooh so long, I've been a Bears fan (since '84). I can remember Superbowl XX where the Bears beat up on the Patriots and did it all-the-while doing the Superbowl Shuffle. Do you remember watching William "The Refrigerator" Perry, Walter "Sweetness" Payton, Richard Dent, Mike Singletary, Jim McHanon, Willie Gault and others jam to a jazz-inspired rap? Check out the video and if you can't keep up with the lyrics then you can read them here.
The Bears are on the way to Miami and, you know what, this is the first Superbowl where both teams will be coached by two Black men. Wow! So much for the thinking that Black or for the politically correct folks- African Americans, can never lead a team to the BIG game. It's no wonder that the Pittsburgh Steelers are hiring Mike Tomlin. Hmmmmmm!
