It's Summertime!

Since the weather is finally warming up, it's time to shed the hoodies, track jackets and other winter/ spring-weather gear.

It's time to rock the shorts, short-sleeve t-shirts and, of course, sneakers. The shoe pictured above is just one pair of the kicks that I'll be rocking.

Love & War

As I write this entry, I'm traveling but had to post my thoughts on the shootings that took place this morning at Virginia Tech.

I know some folks that attended VT, many who have a lot of love for their alma mater. On a day like today,my thoughts and prayers are on the students, faculty, administrators and anyone in the Blacksburg, VA area.

You see, I've been on a mission to spread LOVE everyday because life isn't guaranteed & we have all seen too much hatred in the world, either firsthand or through those we know and love.

As human beings, with the ability to think critically, reason and create, we do a horrible job of loving our brothers & sisters. There is a thing called Binary Oppositions--there must be a top & a bottom of everything in life-- and many people put their own priorities ahead of what is better for whole.

So, as you settle down for the evening, say a prayer for mankind and remember to tell the people you love that you LOVE them.

Love is LOVE! Life is about preparing for the eternal life.

2007 is HERE!

It's officially the third day of January and 2007 is off to a great start. Nothing beats spending quality time with the family and then ringing in the New Year with family and friends who believe in all that you are.

This year, instead of boarding a plane and heading south to somewhere warm, I decided to stay in the Northeast and enjoy the warmer-than-usual weather in the Big Apple. When I say the BIG APPLE, that name conjures some good memories of my days troopin' around Brooklyn, Manhattan, the Bronx and Queens. You see, I love New York and there is something infectious about the City. It truly is the "City that never sleeps". You can find anything you need in NYC- clothing, weed (heavier stuff too), liquor(beer), music and, of course, sneakers.

On the topic of sneakers, '07 looks like the retros will continue to flow, eventhough many of them are horrible versions and made of cheap and inferior materials. Many a pair of kicks are going to get the 'Trash' label from me and won't be purchased. Hasn't the game gotten a bit played out? Yes, it has but that's where individuality kicks in and you have to Keep it Funky!

I miss the old New York!
