White, Green & Mean

By now you've heard the news that Rasheed Wallace a/k/a/ Roscoe, signed with the Boston Celtics? His contract, a cool $5.8 million for the first year and then negotiable for years 2 and 3. Let's just say that Roscoe will not be hurting for money and he'll be setting up shop (read: house) in Waltham or West Roxbury.

But, let's cut to the chase and put our cards on the table, sneakerheads, and yours truly, already envisioned some White and Green Air Force 1 Highs with a Green Swoosh, Green outsole and Black Proprioceptus Belt (read: strap) dangling from the rear, as only 'Sheed can rock them.

Don't worry, when 'Sheed is spotted wearing a pair during pre-season, OSD will be sure to let the WORLD see them, until then Walk GOOD!

Kobe Risking It All?

When the Zoom Kobe IVs were previewed, I immediately thought that Kobe and the designers of the sneakers had lost their mind! In this day and age where most slashing point guards or small forwards are opting for mid-to-high cut basketball sneakers (the exceptions being Steve Nash and Mike Bibby.) it seemed as though Kobe was foregoing all the drama with basketball sneakers being highs, and went in the opposite direction.

During his press conference regarding the sneakers, Kobe elaborated that he likes to feel closer to the floor. Kobe continued to say, "High-tops really don't do much for you," Bryant told the Associated Press. "If you're going to roll your ankle, you're going to roll it. It kind of is what it is."

We'll have to wait to see how long it takes Kobe to switch kicks during a run of games, especially when the Lakers take on the defending NBA Champions, the Boston Celtics, on Christmas Day.

Kobe will be wearing these special Zoom KB IVs on Christmas.
(It won't matter, because the Celtics are still going to BEAT LA!)

Kevin Garnett to wear Adidas Team Signature Commander in NBA Finals

Well look what the cat dragged in and who finally stepped up their game for the NBA Finals!? Adidas is hitting Kevin Garnett off with an ill sneaker and one whose proceeds go to benefit the NBA Cares program in Boston.

KG will be wearing the Team Signature Commander throughout the Finals when the Celtics take on the Lakers, to commemorate the Celtics' quest for NBA supremecy. KG will wear a different pair of sneakers for each game, each displaying the game number, the Larry O'Brien NBA Championship Trophy and a profile of KG's face.

Get your loose change ready and run to the nearest CoinStar change counter because you'll need $1,017 to buy a pair of these kicks. Word is that Adidas will make 8 pairs per game (this means that a total of 56 pairs may be floating around if the NBA Finals go seven games)and will be sold at Celtics.com, the TD Banknorth Garden Pro Shop and NBA Store in New York City.

While the official release for the Team Signature Commander is not due to be released until October 2008, sneakerheads have been buzzing about the sneakers worn by KG throughout the Eastern Conference Finals and Adidas decided to do something special and make a move now.

KG will also autograph one pair to be auctioned on NBA.com after the Finals.
